Fellowship Program

The McGill Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program involves a 2-year core of clinical training. This includes 19 months of experience at the Montreal Children's Hospital, 3 months of nephrology rotations on the adult Nephrology Services at the Montreal General and Royal Victoria Hospitals and 2 months of elective time.

While at the Montreal Children's Hospital, there are three basic rotations:

A) In-Patient care (including renal transplantation, renal biopsies, acute dialysis, etc.) and consultations;
B) Outpatient ESRD (longitudinal care of transplant, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and chronic renal failure patients);
C) General Outpatient Pediatric Nephrology (consultation and clinics).

Pediatric Nephrology fellows aiming at an academic career are encouraged to supplement this core clinical training with 1-3 years of additional training in clinical or basic nephrology research.
